Verse 1
I was standing at a distance
With the weight of all my sin
But Your kindness called me nearer
And Your mercy brought me in
I had nothing left to offer
I had nothing I could hide
Still You opened up Your presence
Still You drew me to Your side
Chorus
Welcomed in, welcomed in
By the mercy of Your love
Welcomed in, welcomed in
By the kindness of the cross
Not because I was worthy
Not because I was strong
Jesus, You have called me closer
Now I know where I belong
Verse 2
You do not turn from the broken
You do not turn from the weak
You are gentle with the burdened
You are peace for those who seek
What was shameful, You have covered
What was lost, You have restored
Now the sinner finds a table
In the presence of the Lord
Chorus
Welcomed in, welcomed in
By the mercy of Your love
Welcomed in, welcomed in
By the kindness of the cross
Not because I was worthy
Not because I was strong
Jesus, You have called me closer
Now I know where I belong
Bridge
There is room here for the weary
There is grace here for the lost
There is healing in Your presence
There is mercy in the cross
There is no more condemnation
There is no more need to hide
By the blood of Christ we come now
Welcomed in and reconciled
