Verse 1

There is wonder in Your presence

There is mercy in Your name

There is glory all around You

Like a never-ending flame

You are higher than the heavens

Yet You meet Your people here

And the more we see Your beauty

The more our hearts draw near

Chorus

Holy is the Lord

Full of glory, full of wonder

Holy is the Lord

Let the earth be still before Him

Holy is the Lord

Verse 2

Saints and angels bow before You

Heaven sings around Your throne

Every nation, every generation

One day will call You Lord

You are set apart in splendour

You are faithful, just, and true

And no other name is worthy

Of the praise that belongs to You

Chorus

Holy is the Lord

Full of glory, full of wonder

Holy is the Lord

Let the earth be still before Him

Holy is the Lord

Bridge

We lift You higher

King eternal, God of glory

We lift You higher

We cry holy

All creation sings before You

We cry holy

Bridge

We lift You higher

King eternal, God of glory

We lift You higher

We cry holy

All creation sings before You

We cry holy

Final Chorus

Holy is the Lord

Full of glory, full of wonder

Holy is the Lord

Let the earth be still before Him

Holy is the Lord

Outro

Holy is the Lord

The heart behind the song

A song for
holiness.

Holy Is the Lord exists to give listeners and gathered worshippers a clear way into holiness. A gathered declaration of God’s holiness, with words shaped for reverence and praise.

Explore the meaning

At its heart, the song treats holiness as something to be received before it is performed. The focus is not on musical display, but on helping attention turn towards Jesus with language that feels plain, prayerful and singable.

The title gives the song its centre of gravity. Around that centre, the words and movement of the song hold awe, adoration and declaration, making room for personal devotion and shared congregational response.

For listening and worship

For everyday listening, the song offers worship language for moments when holiness needs to be remembered and sung, not merely understood.

For churches and worship leaders, it is shaped as a anchor song: clear in focus, connected to the wider EP, and intended to serve gathered voices as well as personal prayer.
